The letterbook includes both personal and business correspondence of J. M. Seibert, the Wells, Fargo & Company general agent in Mexico City. Subjects discussed are: William Jennings Bryan, Edward Henry Harriman, John J. Valentine, and real estate, copper, gold, and silver mining, coffee plantations, and business schemes in Mexico. There are also detailed descriptions of Mexico, and more specifically, Mexico City. The majority of the letters deal with Seibert's personal investments and business dealings; although some of the discussion pertains to Wells, Fargo & Company's investments and real estate purchases.
